Since early 2025, Sales Manager Tomáš Madarász has been leading the Slovakian, Czech and Hungarian team. With an economics background and international sales experience, he brings both fresh perspective and a strong local connection.

“What motivates me most is that we are not just a supplier. We want to be a trusted partner for our farmers and partners. Whenever challenges arise, we try to solve them together: with flexibility, reliability and passion.” – Tomáš Madarász

Turning strategy into practice: Unlock 30 in Central Europe

The changes in Central Europe’s feed market also connect directly to Duynie’s Unlock 30 strategy. This strategy is about creating more value from co-products and expanding across Europe. The Feed division of Duynie plays a key role in servicing European co-product partners from the food-, beverage and biofuel industry. By ensuring production continuity, handling their co-products as circular feed and sustainable food solutions, and lowering the environmental impact of meat & dairy products. Central Europe is one of the growth regions. With Tomáš Madarász and his team, we show how local expertise and strong farmer ties turn strategy into impact.

Supporting farmers in daily practice

Tomáš spends much of his week in the field. He visits farms, joins negotiations, and works alongside his sales team. “I want to see what’s happening on the ground: what farmers need, how competitors are approaching them, and how we can support our colleagues to improve. That closeness makes a difference,” he says.

This hands-on approach also helps when unexpected issues arise. Recently, a co-product partner faced technical problems with drying. “There was a surplus of wet product. We immediately took responsibility, found farmers who could use it, and made sure continuity was not at risk. That’s how you build trust in the long run,” Tomáš explains.

Understanding a changing market

The feed market in Central Europe has its own dynamics. Beer consumption is declining due to higher taxes and changing lifestyles, affecting brewery co-products. At the same time, the number of farms is gradually decreasing. “We have to stay competitive by offering a broad portfolio and by being flexible. But it’s not only about products. Farmers increasingly appreciate advice, for example on managing heat stress during dry summers. Supporting them with knowledge is as important as selling,” says Tomáš.

Partnerships that contribute to Unlock30

For Tomáš and his team, contributing to Duynie’s Unlock30 strategy means working on loyalty and long-term cooperation. “If we can support farmers with multiple products, it makes their business more resilient and ours more reliable. That’s how we grow together,” he says.

Sustainability is also high on the agenda. By shortening transport routes between breweries and farms, the team helps reduce CO₂ emissions and keep the chain efficient. “It’s better for everyone: the farmer, the partner and the environment,” Tomáš adds.

Looking ahead

Tomáš believes the coming years will require even more adaptability. “The market will keep changing, with climate, with consumer habits, with regulations. What matters is that we remain flexible and keep listening closely to our farmers and partners,” he reflects.

He also sees opportunities in further diversifying the portfolio and sharing knowledge across borders. “I want to visit other Duynie locations, learn from their experiences and bring new ideas back to Central Europe. That exchange of insights is how we all become stronger,” he explains.

For Tomáš personally, the journey is just beginning: “I’m motivated to grow in my role, together with my team. Duynie gives me the opportunity to learn and develop, and I want to make the most of that.”
