Innovation constituents: Circular Economy in Action

The shared goal is to improve the sustainability of the potato processing industry and in that way to positively impact the environment. Water is used in the potato processing industry to wash and transport potatoes. Many steps have already been taken to reduce water consumption. By identifying and implementing innovative and eco-friendly methods, it should be possible to reduce water consumption even further, and thereby to minimise the industry’s ecological footprint. Ample opportunities remain to further optimise processes by learning from each other and pursuing innovation.

A further aspect of the partnership involves exploring the possibilities of extracting valuable constituents from the process water. These substances can serve as raw material for various applications, such as animal feed or other products. This contributes to creating a circular economy and to realising a future where sustainability and innovation go hand in hand.
