Ángela Gómez Pratdesaba, Quality Specialist at Duynie, ensures high standards across Southern Europe – from Spain to Italy and Greece. With a Master’s degree in Quality and Food Safety and a passion for circularity, she helps co-product partners navigate regulations ensuring compliance, improve processes, and valorise co-products in meaningful ways.

A core part of Duynie’s QA approach is supporting co-product partners in meeting the specific regulatory demands of each European country, offering hands-on guidance where it matters most. “We don’t just check boxes. We work closely with partners through every stage – from compliance to optimisation. Together, we turn overlooked materials into high-value solutions.” – Ángela Gómez

Supporting partners, driving progress

From guiding co-product partners through local feed legislation to conducting on-site audits, Angela’s role spans both desk and field work. Her mission: to ensure co-products are safe, legal and full of potential.

A standout success? In Croatia, Angela and the team helped a co-product partner reclassify waste streams into high-quality animal feed – reducing costs, improving sustainability, and even registering a brand-new feed material.

“Helping this partner lower their carbon footprint and gain new value from what used to be waste was incredibly rewarding. That’s what partnership means.” – Ángela Gómez

In another example, Duynie collaborated with a co-product partner in Spain to monitor yeast quality. By analysing deviations in product, the QA team identified inefficiencies in beer recovery, leading to significant annual cost savings. "These cases illustrate how Duynie QA doesn’t only improve co-product quality – it often enhances main production processes, too.”

A unique QA service concept

What sets Duynie apart is its dedicated QA Service Concept. It offers co-product partners everything from basic legal compliance to long-term strategic advice. This can include help with sample retention systems, feed safety documentation, and product label optimisation.

“It’s not one-size-fits-all. We adjust our services based on each partner’s needs and ambition – from essential checks to advanced quality innovation.” – Ángela Gómez

Collaborating across teams

Angela’s work doesn’t happen in isolation. Her impact relies on close collaboration with colleagues in procurement, supply chain, sales and sustainability. “From the start of a new partner relationship to long-term process optimisation, we work as a team,” she explains. For instance, quality checks often feed directly into supply chain planning, while sustainability goals are achieved by aligning QA data with environmental benchmarks. Angela regularly joins cross-functional meetings to align on shared goals, exchange insights and identify improvements that benefit both Duynie and its co-product partners. “We’re all working toward the same mission – creating new value.”

QA as a strategic enabler

Angela’s work directly supports Duynie’s Unlock 30 goals: growing sustainably, building strong partnerships, and advancing innovation.

She sees clear trends in the field: increasing regulatory pressure, rising client expectations around transparency, and growing digitalisation. For Duynie, this means one thing: staying ahead by our unique approach – combining high level service with onsite support.

“We want to ensure that our QA advice remains valuable, forward-thinking and always supports our partners in creating a better product – for business and for the planet.” – Ángela Gómez
