Moisture-rich animal feed makes an important contribution to sustainable animal nutrition, and thanks to the GFLI, this can be demonstrated independently and transparently. The GFLI was established to calculate and document the environmental performance characteristics of all animal feed materials, including carbon footprint, water footprint, and 14 other environmental impacts. By contributing data to the GFLI database, Duynie improves her role in maximising the valorisation of co-products.

“Duynie has been a member of this organisation since 2022, to ensure that co-products will be correctly included in this database”, says Derk van Manen, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, who will join the board on behalf of Duynie.

There are already a lot of co-products in the GFLI database and more will follow in the future. In the coming years, various locally operating databases will also be integrated into the GFLI. The GFLI database is also important for chain partners in livestock farming, such as the meat and dairy industry. Data provided by feed suppliers are used to calculate the total environmental impact on a portion of meat or dairy product. Co-products can demonstrably contribute to reducing this impact.
