Duynie has lobbied for the exemption of co-products

Ever since the nitrogen measures were introduced, Duynie has lobbied for the exemption of co-products. The 2019 agriculture memorandum (also drawn up by Minister Carola Schouten) states that the use of co-products in dairy farming is circular and sustainable. According to Derk van Manen (Duynie Manager Quality, Nutrition and Research): “Duynie (jointly with the sector organisation) has continually pointed out that a nitrogen cap in dairy feed should not hinder the use of (protein-rich) co-products. This viewpoint has been listened to and has resulted in the exemption of co-products.”
