Duynie's Gold Cup Winner

Within the UK dairy industry, the Gold Cup is viewed as a prestige award which gathers many entries each year with fierce competition. Duynie Feed UK are proud to announce that our long-standing customer, Mr John Torrance and his family has won the 2022 Gold Cup!

The Torrance family farm 650 pedigree Holstein cows which are housed and calved all year round. The Torrance families main focus is cow comfort, health, and welfare which they have found is key to their successful performance, high health, and fertility status. To support and control these factors, cow manager ear tags are used to closely monitor the herds health which are managed in a total of 5 groups.

The pedigree cows are milked 3 times a day with an annual yield averaging 13,700 litres. This is achieved with the help of a predominantly maize forage total mixed ration incorporating Duynie’s Brewers Grains, Citrus Pulp, and Raw Potato Chips. A key factor in choosing to use Duynie and our co-products is the families focus on sustainability. Heifers are calved at 22 months and the general cow size has been developed to product a lower weight of cow which also contributes towards reducing their carbon footprint.

The Farm has an open day on the 5th of July to celebrate the winning of the Gold Cup and will be attended by a large gathering of dairy producers and industry leaders in the UK.

Duynie will be represented on the day and are delighted to have been given the opportunity to be one of 4 main speakers on the day when we will be highlighting all attributes of our co-product range.

If you are able to join us we would be delighted to have your company.
