Our carrot pieces originate from oversupply or from the food industry. It’s a co-product released during the processing of food grade carrots. The off-sized shapes or top and bottom pieces are separated, collected and transported to a Duynie factory. There they are washed or steam peeled, cut, blanched, air dried, selected, ground and sieved. The carrot pieces have a nice orange colour.
Sustainability savings on carbon footprint, water footprint and land use compared with conventional alternatives. Environmental impact calculated through a LCA/EPD from “cradle-to-gate”. LCA one-pager available on request.
