It is a residual stream that is released during the preparation of beer. The energy value of this product is very high because beer on a product basis contains approx. 5.0% alcohol which in the dry matter of the matrix. The NEpig includes the amount of alcohol. In the net energy formula, 1000 grams of Alcohol contribute 20.75 MJ extra energy. The DE value is shown on the matrix excluding the amount of alcoho energy.
