ACM Italy and Duynie

During the production of French fries and potato chips, sidestream starch is released. Duynie extracts this starch from the process and transports it to one of their European factories. There, the starch is refined and dried into native potato starch. From this point, it can be further processed into modified starch for various applications across different industries.

Therefore, Duynie can contribute to customer’s sustainability goals, like ACM Italy’s ambition to create a complete sustainable wallpaper adhesive. With the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) factsheet of potato starch, Duynie provides insight in the carbon footprint, water footprint and land use of side stream potato starch compared to conventional alternatives. ACM Italy uses this LCA to calculate the carbon savings of their wall covering products.
